Public folder issue, "messaging interface has returned an unknown error"

I'm running a SBS2003 domain and just added a public folder and a
customized form for entry into the public folder. All of our clients
(all XP Pro, Outlook 2003 with all updates) can get to that folder and
use the form without any difficulty except for one. On one computer I
get the classic "The messaging interface has returned an unknown error.
If the problem persists, restart Outlook." error message.

I have tried a repair install, no change.
I have tried making a new profile, no change.
I have tried adding / removing his PST file (currently he's not even
using a pst file, just exchange), no change.
I have tried logging in as another user on his same computer - it works
fine for the other user (same computer) but when I log back in as the
original user, no change.

Any ideas? I've searched through the knowledge base but I do not have
any of the symptoms mentioned in the articles dealing with this error
message.

Aak!

Thanks for your ideas.

Well, I finally fixed it on my own.
I tried uninstalling and reingstalling office, no change.
I tried his user on another machine and other users on his machine - it
all worked so I knew it wasn't a permissions or machine issue, it had
to be some personal setting. I backed up his documents and settings
and then completly removed his user profile (folders too).
I logged in as him again (which created a new user profile and folder),
restored his files and he's up and running perfectly.

Why that happened? What caused it to happen? I will probably never
know, but maybe this solution might someone else who runs into this
problem.
