.pst stands for???

I have a silly question! Can someone tell me what .pst
stands for? I know that it is a personal folder file, but
what is the acronym for?!

Just an idea, but if *.ost is an offline store could *.pst
be a personal store?

Who knows!

As I said in my original post, I know that a .pst IS a
personal folder file (I work on a helpdesk), but a few of
my coworkers were discussing that we don't actually know
what it stands for. If it stood for personal folder file,
the file extention would be .pff. I think the thought
that it could be Personal Storage makes alot of sense.

My guess is Personal STorage. Offlline folders have file type .ost and I
suspect that's Offline STorage.

Darn I always thought it was Pacific Standard Time :-)
The one that I have heard used the most is what Brian said as Personal
STorage, only other I have heard once or twice is Personal Storage Type.
