Hi all,

does anybody know how is it possible that a pst that the user has been always accessing without password, suddenly prompts for a password after being moved to a network share? and how to correct this behaviour?

thanks!

Not sure; does the user have at least modify rights to the folder & all
contents therein on the server?
Ddoes it work right if you move it back to local computer?

Note - MS doesn't support accessing PST files over a LAN/WAN connection -
can lead to data corruption & performance problems. That said, I've seen it
work - I just prefer to avoid this configuration.

I Lanwench, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I cannot do any ts now cause I had this problem with a user at work, so I have to wait tomorrow. As first thing I will try to move it back to the original location. If I can open it from there, i will just create a new pst and import all the items.
Changes on the server or on the rights have not been done at all, and the user doesn't have rights to change anything, both on his machine and on the server. So the reason why the pst is prompting for a pwd after being moved is still a mistery for me. The only thing that comes up in my mind is that the original location of the pst is the default location, inside the 'Documents and settings" folder; so I though the password could be the network pwd for that user, I've tried that, but didn't work.
I'll keep you updated.

Thanks
Max
