Anyone tell me the magic number (in size) Outlook quits
working well with the .pst file? I've have users with pst
files larger than 1.5G start to have performance problems
like email lockis up. I created another pst file where
they dropped and drag emails to the new pst for load
balancing. I also have a user with 6 pst files, anyone
see any problems with performance issues with this
setup?

For PSTs for Outlook prior to Outlook 2003, the maximum size was 1.83 Gb.
Go beyond that and you WILL corrupt the file. Many people would start to
experience problems at about 1.5 Gb. I experienced performance issues at
around 1.25 Gb on occasion.

I have never seen perfomance problems with multiple PSTs that stay under 1
Gb.

After moving items from one PST to another, be sure you compact the original
to reduce the file size.
