Hi there,

I use XP SE with Outlook 2003. I relocated my .pst folder and now I
have a personal folder which on clicking throws a message that "The set
of folders could not be opened"

The archive (newly located) has all the mails, etc, but this addtional
PST folder is irritating. Can someone suggest how to get rid of this
folder. I can't even close it or check the properties.

TIA.

Ninad.

XP SE?
How did you "relocate" your Outlook Data File?
You appear to have corrupted your Outlook profile.

I just moved the file using explorer. Guess I need to recreate the
Outlook profile.

Thanks,

Ninad.

If the PST you moved was your delivery location, then Outlook should have
complained and then allowed you to browse to the new location. It shouldn't
have produced the situation you're describing.

You mentioned "archive":

Is this a real archive, by Outlook's definition of "archive" or just a word
you chose to describe this other PST?

I archived (Outlook definition) my emails in this PST file. This PST
file was opened in the Navigation Pane. And I moved it to a particular
folder I wanted. I opened the same PST file in the Navigation Pane
(now in the new location). I don't recollect Outlook throwing up a
dialog box.

Now in the Navigation Pane window there are two folders Folder1 - the
new location and Folder2 - the earlier one which gives the error
message. I deleted the email settings and recreated new settings,
however, this did not solve the problem.

Thanks,

Ninad.

If you moved a PST while Outlook was open, that can corrupt your profile.

You need to create a new mail profile. Control Panel>Mail>Show Profiles>Add
