I am trying to import a saved PST file into Outlook but
am getting the message-
"properties for this information service must be defined
before use"

then when this goes I get "File access is denied. You do
not have the permission required to access the file"

Any ideas??

It was all so easy before XP!

Go to the file in windows explorer, right click, go to properties and take
off the read only tick.

Outlook required read/write access to pst files

XP has nothing to do with it. If nothing else, XP helps make the process
easier....

Whoever saved the pst file in the first place probably checked the encrypt
choice. Check that in the original file and have them redot the export.

If it is on a burned CD, copy it to your hard drive
first, then remove the read-only attribute.

Great this solves one problem but creates another. The
PST is 127MB. When I load in the data it is only 303KB
in size- all the rest of the data is not viewable?

Any ideas?

The size of the PST has very little to do with the amount of data stored in
it. You can't postulate a correspondence between to the two values.
