.pst files

I am trying to open an archive.pst file from my desktop
to my laptop. However, the outlook program keeps telling
me that it cannot open this potentially harmful file.
But it's an Outlook file. Grrr! Does anyone know what I
can do?

I assume your virus program is telling you that it cannot do this which also could be working in conjuntion with your Outlook program
..pst files are used by Outlook and I've never had a problem moving them or even creating them

You might be able to get around it by renaming the .pst file to something else eg. .doc ?? or .liz ? . .something that the virus program or outlook will not see as being threatening. This will require trial & error.

How are you trying to open it? File/Open by any chance? You have to go
File/Import then follow the steps to import the archive.pst file back
into Outlook.
