pst files over small network

One computer in the studio, one in the kitchen and one in the bedroom (OL
2003) - I usually pick up e-mail and organise in the studio - can I use the
same pst file in the other places? Scanning the forums suggests there is a
problem?...
 
Microsoft doesn't officially support the use of personal folder files across
a network connection. However you will find that many do it every day and
it works. Just have to accept some limitations and gotchas...

1) Only 1 machine can have the file open at a time.

2) If something happens to the network connection or the remove machine is
power off while a remote machine has the file open, file will have minor
corruption and will require the running of the inbox repair tool.

OK quick follow up - do I delete the existing pst file on remote (kitchen,
bedroom) and open 10 yr old from studio "virtual server"? In the past had
problems with 2 inboxes...
Any other wrinkles?

No reason to, if you don't want to. You can also merge those existing PSTs
into the shared PST, if you've a mind to do so, or each machine can have it
own private PST into which specific items can be moved so they don't clutter
up the shared PST.

There's only one Inbox. There may be other folders with the name "Inbox",
but they won't be your Inbox.
