pst file not personal folder

I inadvertantly deleted my pst file. Thankfully after
backing it up. However, when I try and point outlook to
it, it says the .pst file is not a personal folder.

Any ideas or tools that can help me get it back where it
belongs?

Where is the pst file residing that you are trying to point Outlook to?

On the local drive. I've run scanpst however, it's not
really happy. even though I have a 500 meg file I only
see a couple of messages.
