Hi all
I have recently upgraded a small network to new pcs (first time) this
involved a new win3k server and domain all clients are running office 2002.
with some clients although not all i have problems with the outlook pst
files not openning correctly.

there are a small number whos contacts and tasks infact any shortcut create
a frozen outlook when clicked and a grey screen with a message saying the
contacts list does not exist.

however when i go to folder view and click the contacts folder all data is
there.
can someone help with this issue and the correct way to move a pst file
around a network.

I did have Norton 2004 internet security installed as well.
any tips or advice would be welcome

regards
Greg

Are your PST files stored on a network drive?
MS doesn't support this - besides inevitable performance problems, which may
describe what's happening to you now, you may also experience data loss.

I suppose it's too late to suggest SBS2003, which includes Exchange & is
often cheaper than Win2k3 server itself!

No the files are stored on th local machine, will eventually be moving to an
exchange server in the next few months
