Can someone assist me re IE6 Proxy Server settings? I want to have them
unchecked but whenever I log out the settings do not hold and are checked
again. I have to go back into the connection tab and uncheck them. This is
the only way I have found to aviod the Page will not display errors,
especially those that occur with Yahoo mail.

I am using dial up, XP2, Zone Alarm, NAV, Spybot, Ad-ware, Spyware,
CWShredder. I clean the temp files and cookies but the problem continues to
exist. This has been going on every since XP2 came out. It's just annoying.
I've read similar experience posted here but nothing seems to help.
Comments? Thanks.

Sorry, I am using dialup.

Thanks for the links. I will read them to see if they help the situation.

I tried the suggestions in the linked document but it did not work. Anyone
else with any ideas as to resolving this problem? Thanks.

Frank,

First, see if _temporarily_ disabling third-party browser extensions helps
(in Internet Options > Advanced tab). Another option is if you've XP Pro
installed, set a registry Audit to monitor the Proxy Server setting.

How to use Group Policy to configure auditing of Windows registry keys in XP
Professional?:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
Value that you want to monitor "ProxyEnable"

-and-

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Connections
Value that you want to monitor is the dial-up connectoid name

Thanks Ramesh for the suggestions. I disabled the 3rd party browser extension
but the problem still occurs. When offline the proxy boxes are unchecked but
as soon as I log on to the internet then are reset and checked.

I am using XP Home so I am unable to try your other suggestions.
