I'm not sure what the problem really is, It could be my proxy or something
different.

The problem is this, I can download things like yahoo IM or google earth but
when I try to use them online they won't can't connect. And then there some
things I can't download like weather bug & I get a message saying I need to
connect to the internet.
Can anyone please help before I toss my PC out the window.

These problems are directly connected to the fact that you are using a proxy
server. All those programs must connect to the Internet to work and they
don't know about your proxy server. You'll need to look in the programs'
Help files - or check with the programs' tech support - to see how to
properly set them up to work with a proxy server.

Is there some way I can get around using a proxy server or even turn it off
or something??

Only you can answer that. Most people don't use a proxy server. I don't know
why you use one or what your situation is. If you are in an office, then
you need to talk to your IT dept. If you are at home, then normally you
wouldn't be using a proxy server unless you have a non-standard Internet
connection. You'll need to give more information about your connection if
you want focused help.

please contact me at (e-mail address removed)
Thanx

I'm sorry, but I don't provide free tech support via email. Now that you
have posted your real, unmunged email address prepare to get a lot more
spam. Here is a link explaining how to munge your email address:

You are still not giving us enough information to help you. Normally a
regular DSL connection would not use a proxy server. However, if you
have AOL Broadband I suppose they might. AOL has always done things in
a non-standard way and their broadband offerings are no different.

Either contact your ISP's tech support or have a local professional come
on-site and set you up correctly.
