Twice now I have had to reload Windows XP(Home Edition).

Both events have begun with rundill32.exe being
corrupted. When I ran the set-up disk to repair the
problem I was confrunted with the messsage 'One of the
components that Windows needs to continue set up could not
be installed'. Also another message stated ' unregmp2.exe -
The procedure entry point GetIUMS could not be located in
the dynamic link library MsDART.DILL'

As I couldn't repair the problem the only answer was to
completely re-install Windows.

Has anybody an answer to what causes the above problem and
how to avoid it happening again. My protection is fully up
to date (Nortons Anti-virus 2002) and my Internet Explorer
firewall is activated.

Kind regards & safe computing.

When the problem occurs, press Shift +F10 to bring up the
command prompt. Then type taskmgr.exe in the DOS window
and press Enter. The Task Manager should be started. If
not, try to press C+Shift+ESC. In the Task Manager
program, select the error messsage window in the
application list and click "End Task". In the process
list, terminate the unregmp2.exe program. Exit the DOS
prompt window and resume the installation process.
