I am a novice Excel user. I have a spreadsheet with several formulas
that need protected which I have done by locking those cells and using
a password. What I would like to do is secure the formulas but allow
for the user to resize columns, lines, etc. Is there a way for me to
do this?

If you have Excel 2002(and presumably 2003) you can do this. Earlier versions
did not allow formatting on a protected sheet.

Have you tried giving your formular a name?
Copy the formular onto your clip board then uce Ctrl+F3
to bring up the Define Name form.
Type the name of the formular in the name box and paste
the formular into the "refers to box"

Now go back to the excell cell that you require the
fromular and tyoe "=Your_formular_name"

It's not a true protection but will fool a lot of people
