I have just had a play around, and have found that you need to protect the
whole sheet, and then unprotect individual cells. Can you do this the other
way around.

ie At the end of every day protect that days data, but have the remainder of
the year open to edit.

Hope someone can understand what I mean, and give me an answer.
Many thanks

Hi,
This is how it works, if cell protection is locked when you protect the
sheet you cannot edit or change information in any cell. If I didn't
misunderstand what you want to do, first select the whole sheet, right click
in the mouse, format cells, Protection (last tab), there uncheck locked. there
every user will be able to modify all the cells. At the end of the day let's
say you want users not to be able to modify column B, Highlight column B,
right click, format cells, protection, check the locked box, and then protect
your worksheet. Now the users will be able to edit and change information
everywhere but column B

Hope this helps
