Protecting A Portion of A Form

Hello,

I am using Word 2003 and I would like to create a very simple form for
gathering information on project status.

Is there a way in Word to protect a portion of the form while leaving the
rest of the form open?

The reason I ask is because the bottom portion of the form uses tables to
gather information on current achievements but in a form I have to limit the
number of rows and they cannot add more. i would like to unprotect this
section to allow them to add additional rows if necessary.

Thanks,

Emily

If you insert section breaks between the parts to be protected and those
left unprotected, you can protect specific sections.

Hi Suzanne,

Thats great thanks.

Now I inserted the break, but when I turn on protection, it still prevents
me from entering information in to both sections.

Is there something particular i need to do in order to specify the protected
from the unprotected section?

Thanks

Use the Protect Document task pane instead of the lock icon on the Forms
toolbar. After you select "Filling in forms" in the editing restrictions
area, click the "Select sections" link that appears below it. Uncheck the
section that you want to leave unprotected.
