protected document

When I put a password protected doc up on the web, the cursor appears at the
first position of the doc title!

where else should it appear?

Pardon my stupidity, but I felt that since it was a protected document, read
only, there should be NO cursor.

hmm, I might not have grasped all there is to your problem. What's the
version of Word you're using, how exactly did you protect the document
(for forms or something different)?
