Protected cell

Sorry, what I meant to say was how do you let a user
insert a comment in an unprotected, unlocked cell where
the rest of the worksheet is protected? Data can be
input into the unprotected cell, but the "Insert Comment"
choice is greyed out in the unprotected cell.

When you protect the sheet - uncheck the "Objects" box under the
"Protect Worksheet for" section on the "Protect Sheet" tab.
This appears to allow comments in any cell however.
