Protect Form

I created a form some time ago and it worked just fine...
now I seem to have lost the ability to "Protect" the form
(icon is greyed out)... this applies to my template and
all saved copies. Any ideas?
 
What are you trying to Protect the document for? If you have the document Protected for Track Changes, then the Protect Option on the Toolbar is gray. If this is the problem, you should be able to change it by going to the Tools Menu and Unprotecting the document. Then, reapply Protection making sure it's set to protect Form

Track changes is not turned on...

I am having the same problem. I created forms in Word 2000. For awhile, I was able to protect and the form through the Tools menu. Now, however, when I open the documents to make changes, the unprotect document command is grayed out. This is happening with all my forms (I created over 60 based on one template). Any ideas?
