protect docu with form, correct password not working aft a day

Microsoft Word: I used the "Protect/Form" function under Tool for three of
my documents. After a day, I tried to "Unprotect" the files with the correct
"Password" but an error message appeared saying that the "Password" is
incorrect.

I would appreciate very much if someone can help me with this.
