We have a manual in .doc format in which there are
bookmarks and hyperlinks allowing users to move from the
index to the appropriate part of the manual and then back
to the index.
However; we do not want users to be able to modify the
document. Applying protection to the document removes
functionality of the hyperlinks.
We have tried setting the document as read-only and
requiring a password for modifications which works.
However; we would like to avoid the Microsoft pop-up
dialog giving the user the option of opening the file in
anything other than read only format.
I have limited experience with Visual Basic for
Applications (Access). Is there any way to accomplish
this or is there a better way?
TIA
