Protect custom views from inadvertant changes, e.g. sort order.

Once a custom view has been created, it should be possible to lock it, so
that it is only possible to modifiy it from the Customize Current View
dialog. It is VERY irritating to have the sort order of a Custom View
permanently change whenever the column head is clicked.

So, if you want to change that custom view to something you find is better,
how do you accomplish that then?
