I installed a driver for a remote cd-rw, and the resolution and color bit defaulted to the lowest settings. I went into display and settings to reset the window resolution and colors from "lowest 4 bit" to 16 bit, and after restart
up came the ugly color screen. Upon checking display, settings, I found that it had defaulted to "lowest 4 bit"
and the lowest windows resolutions. Any ideas??

It sounds like your accelerator video driver has been disabled. Does
reinstalling the video driver change anything? If not, it may be a case of
the CD-RW driver interfering with it.
