I linked an Excel worksheet into Access 2002. In Excel it's a simple
worksheet; First Name, Last Name, Address1, Address2, etc. In Access, the
formatting for Address1 comes up as a Number, although I've tried to change
it. Address2 always imports correctly as text, for some reason. Once in
Access I can't change the Property of this Field, so I'm stuck with Number
properties.

I've tried renaming the column in Excel, changing the properties in Excel to
just about everything EXCEPT numbers, and even making a dummy first entry in
Excel that doesn't contain a number in the Address1 column. But it still
imports as a number field. Can anyone help?

Read the following:

In short, you may need to change your registry settings.
