properties for folders won't open!

Hi!
Normally, when i go to my computer and right-click a drive or folder, then
click properties, i get a dialog of various statistics about the drive. Since
earlier today, this isn't happening.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this problem?

Event log errors?
Have you rebooted & reproduced the problem?
Is the system entirely up to date on patches/service packs/hotfixes?
