I have an interesting problem. When I restart this
laptop, certain programs won't start until I kill
spoolsv.exe. For instance, I can open two instances of
internet explorer, yahoo IM and neither will start until
I kill spoolsv.exe The service restarts itself in 60000
milliseconds and doesn't cause any further problems. Just
wondering what might be the problem

I'm using XP Pro SP2 RC2.

It looks as if the 'spoolsv.exe' service is starting a
little too early in the boot process. You might want to
have it start delayed - OR - you can start it manually
when you are ready. 'spoolsv.exe' is required when you
have a printer attached that spools (saves in the system
area) print pages so you can get back to work right away
after "printing" a document.
