I'm finding too many things won't run in Windows Vista. I just tried
installing a simple student tutorial that I used in Windows XP and it won't
run at all in Windows Vista??? Why???

I've only come across a couple of programs that won't run...
Have you tried running this one in XP compatibility mode?
Do you get an error message?
What type of program is it?

This is a file I download and extract. When I click on the application icon,
it give me a message, "Publisher cannot be verified. Are you sure you want
to run this application?" and I click yes, and instead of running, it
extracts some files again. It is supposed to open up a student tutorial
where I can answer quiz questions. It doesn't give me an option to run in XP
compatibility mode because I doesn't seem to be installing anywhere.

Is the downloaded file a zip file? Clicking on a zip or other archive
file will usually just extract, as you said. Perhaps the tutorial
needs no installation and that's why it's not installing. Are the
extracted files stored in a new folder on your Desktop, perhaps?

Yes, the downloaded file is a zipped file. I download it to a file called
"Real Estate" and then double click on it in that folder. It extract the
files into the real estate folder so I end up with a zipped file, another
file named the same thing as the zipped file but not zipped any more, and an
icon that says it's an application, but when I click it, instead of opening
the application, it seems to unzip again to somewhere. It goes so fast I
can't see where it's going. I never had this problem on my other computer
with Windows XP.
