Several programs start when I boot my computer, such as Microsoft Office and
an Imaging program....this is slowing my computer down to get turned on and
ready to use.

How do I get these programs to stop automatically loading when I start the
computer?

Thanks,

Annette

Start - Run, at the Open Dialogue box type msconfig
When the msconfig program starts choose Startup and clear the checkbox of
the programs that you do not want to start.

Hi, Annette-
I typed "Startup Folder" into Windows Help, and got this:
1.. Right-click the Start button, and then click Properties.
2.. On the Start Menu tab, click Classic Start menu, and then click
Customize. This changes the style of the Start menu.
3.. Click Advanced. (snip)

Click on the Programs folder, then on the Startup folder within Programs.
Mine is *empty*, so my Windows starts right up!
(When you are done, change back to the regular Start menu if you do not
prefer Classic.)
