Some of the icons in my Programs menu turned white and don't work anymore.
How do I fix them?
 
Are all your shortcuts white icons (for example, the icons for shortcuts to
programs in the Quick Launch toolbar)? Create this new shortcut from the
context menu (New > Shortcut) on your desktop, and copy and paste
"C:\Windows\System32\notepad.exe" for the location of the shortcut (click
Next, click Finish). Does that shortcut open Notepad? Does it have a blue
"notepad" icon?
 
The Quick Launch icons are fine, and some of the Programs ones are fine. The
notepad shortcut works too.
 
Okay, when you right-click a program that has a white icon, and choose "Open
file location", does Explorer open to the link's target file, that is, a
file with an .exe extension? Give a couple or so examples of Programs'
shortcuts that no longer work; i.e., what are their names?
 
Open File location doesn't appear as an option, but when I right click
Properties, the file path still appears.
My Smart FTP and MySQL Migration Toolkit links don't work. That's odd
though, since more links used to be broken. I guess I'll just reinstall these
2 apps and the links should be fixed. Thanks for your help.
