Programs don’t open on 2nd or 3rd try

I have XP Prof. and when I boot everything is normal and I can
initially use IE or other programs with no problem but the second or
third time I try to open a probram I’ll get the hour glass (then
disappears)but the program doesn’t open up. When I reboot the problem
is solved on th efirst try but the same thing happens again. I’ve run
spyware killer, ad-aware and have the Panda anti virus and also used
reg cleaner but can’t seem to rectify the prob. Any ideas would be
appreciated.

To repair all system files, go to Start/Run, and type: SFC /SCANNOW

Hi Jerry,

The next time this happens, go into [Task Manager] and see if their
is a process running for the application in question. I run into
this problem at least one a week when I am running Mozilla 1.7.3. If
I kill the process then the program loads when you click on it from
the [Start] menu.
