Has anyone experienced this?
After performing a windows update no programs appear on
the task bar of one of my Windows XP Pro systems.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,
John

Hi John,

Run this script: Programs Aren't Minimized in the Taskbar (Line 240)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Note: Do not reboot or logoff. Once the edit is merged, right click the
Notification Area/Task Manager/Processes. Highlight Explorer.exe, End
Process.

Leave the Task Manager open. Once the process has ended, choose File/New
Task and type in: Explorer.exe.

Thanks for the tip, but it did not solve my problem.
Any other suggestions?

Do you really mean the Taskbar (the area between the Start button and the
System Tray) or do you mean the System Tray (the area on the lower right
that contains the clock) If it's the System Tray, try turning off Universal
Plug and Play. To do this, open Control Panel, then Add or Remove Programs,
then Add or Remove Windows Components. Now scroll down to Networking
Services and double-click. Uncheck Universal Plug and Play if it's checked,
OK your way out and reboot.

Ah, I am having the same problem. The My music folder is
on the startbar, but something is wrong with it... it is
set as read only and I can't unset it, also, the icon is
of a standard folder rather than the music folder one.

Ignore my last post, sorry, I misread it, I thought that
where it said "ensure the music folder is on the start
bar" was the solution. Sorry.
