programs connecting to internet

I have cable internet service. When a program on my
computer tries to connect to the internet it pulls up my
old aol. For example on windows media player when i go to
the download visualizations or skins it pulls up aol
instead of going through internet explorer. How do I fix
this without deleting aol?

Go to internet properties >> tools - change default internet connetcion,
then under connections, check "never dial....."
