Programs close when returning from screensaver

Hi there. Need help here.
Found a problem recently. The programs I open will close after I move my
mouse to return from screen saver.
Could anyone tell me what's wrong with my system?
I'm using windows xp service pack 2.

This has been seen with Microsoft Intellimouse 5.2. I had the problem
until I upgraded to Intellimouse 5.5.
