Hi Rachel,
The "problem" is not really a problem, it's in the way software installation
routines are written. Many older ones rely on global conditions existing for
all users on a system. In a true user environment like WinXP uses, these
same conditions do not exist, as each user has their own little world to
play in. This necessitates that either the program distributor update the
installation routine they use, or that the user reinstall it under each
profile.
