I am looking for an application (preferably freeware) that will monitor

a network directory (or mapped network drive) for new files, and a pop
a message up when a new file has arrived in that directory.

Any ideas of an application that will do this?

Sorry I don't have the answer but I would suggest that you ask for that
software in alt.comp.freeware. It's a great NG.
