Program list width

I can't find a way to narrow the width of my program list. The list has a
very wide column size and I would like to narrow it so I may add more
programs. Any one have an idea? Any help would be very appreciated.

You may either want to activate the vertical arrows or drag the
programs into desktop folders.

Edit the names displayed to be shorter.

I don't know how old your comp. is. when I got this one in oct. it had
atleast 3 types on players -like windows media player and lot's of junk they
wanted me to buy or subscibe to. most of it junk. after deleting them. I put
what was left in alphabetical order to make it easier to locate what i
wanted. I also shortened my start list.

Go to "Display Properties". Click on the "Appearance" tab. Use the pull-down
menu to choose what you want to change, in this case, "Menu". Then just
change the size.

Hi Bob

The width of the column will be dictated by the width of the longest
entry; so if you want it narrower, edit the names of some of the
shortcuts to make them shorter

Look for the problem entries in either/both:

C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\Start Menu\Programs
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs

Right-click on one you want to change, choose Rename and edit the name
to something a little less wordy
