I just realized that my Program files folder on the start menu points to the
wrong place?

It points to a folder on my desktop called Programs

I am not sure how to fix it?

Any suggestions?

What 'Program Files' folder on the start menu? I don't have one. Do you mean
the Program files folder on the Windows drive? Please clarify.

under the start menu there is a line above documents called programs that is
what point to the folder on my desktop

Wayne,

1. Click Start, Run and type Regedit
2. Navigate to the locations below:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders]
Set the value of 'Common Programs' to "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs

-and-

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders]
Set the value of 'Programs' to %USERPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs

Restart Windows
