Program Error

Im running Windows 2000 on my Panasonic Laptop. Whenever
I start internet explorer, after a few minutes I get this
error message:

Program Error

svchost.exe has generated errors and will be closed by
windows. You will need to restart the program. An error
log is being created.

What does this mean and how do I fix it???

Check for more detail in the Event log.

If the problem is reproducible figure out which svchost.exe is failing
by doing a tasklist /svc before making it happen.

It's probably the main one in which case let's hope the Event viewer
helps distinguish which service is failing.


BTW make sure that you have an up-to-date virus scan done because
I think that there is an exploit involving a phony svchost.exe which may
run from a non-standard directory.
