Program error: Application will not run if it cannot display bann

Kendell,

What is the application?

Banners can be blocked via Ad Blocking in the Firewall for example

Freebudget. It is an emergency. I began working as a transcriptionist, and
this program is needed so that I can invoice the company. (It counts words
in documents typed. It counts differently than "word count" in MSWord.)

It downloaded with no problem, but it gives me this message. When I close
it, my screen flashes with what looks like the program, but then it
disappears.

I would go back to the site you donwloaded it from
and start looking around. Since whoever wrote the thing
coded the error dialog into it, it must be a known problem
and there should be some instructions on how to deal with it.

I have looked everywhere on how to turn on banners. Any ideas?

You might want to contact the tech support for the program since this is an
error generated by the program install.

Both Rock & V Green had an excellent idea, which I had already tried. They
have info on their retail products, but not freebudget, which is freeware. I
also googled freebudget help; - instructions; - error; - display; error
banners; error display. I have no ideas left--that's why I posted.

Ok sorry you haven't been successful finding help. Just FYI, next time post
that info so folks don't have to refer you to something you've already
tried. Good luck.

All:

Sorry about the dot.gif file that got posted.

Must have selected it by mistake when I cut & pasted
the review from the page I got it from. I ran CA antivirus
on it and it said it's OK, for what that's worth.

Actually that was Newbie Coder who posted about the firewall. I agree,
though, it's probably that or some security program blocking the banner.

Rock, you're right--I should have said what I had already done. I won't
make that oversight again.

I finally figured it out a little while ago, and I feel REALLY dumb! I had
added it to the exceptions list on Firefox, since it is the browser I use and
it is my default. I didn't think to do the same on IE since I NEVER use it.
Once I did, though, the program worked.

I didn't really want to download this--I also saw that review saying it was
adware. The company for which I began working recommends using this program,
and it's almost impossible to invoice for your work if you don't use it.

Regarding support, though. Once I finally got into the program, there was a
help button. Surprise, surprise, it took me to an invalid page!!!

Oh well. At least I can invoice for my work now.

Thank you guys for all your help.
