Program access multi-accounts

Since SP2 install (Oct '04) my antispyware software doesnt scan all the user
accounts.Any files with a specific user name seem to be excluded except for
the a/c that the program is run from. This also affects scans by programs like
System Mechanic and CCleaner. The only way I've found to deal with it is to
scan from each a/c.Of course this means changing each a/c to admin and then
changing it back. This makes a complete system scan an all day task.
Anyone else had this problem?Anyone know of a solution?

Known problem. A lot of tools simply don't do multiple users.

Up to the vendor. Technically, it's possible for a an administrator to have
or to be able to claim the rights to any file on the system. Then again,
running in system context alleviates some of the issues. It's also possible
to remote edit registries, but it's entirely up to the software vendor.

Walter, thanks for response but how does it become a vendor problem when these
apps worked fine before SP2.

Are you sure they did?

I have clients running SP1 and even plain XP. I have to disinfect,
carefully, each user by logging into each profile.

Thanks Walter, you are right.I have no way of proving that they did,I just
assumed when I became aware of the need to check each user a/c that the
amount of spyware etc in those a/c's would have been greater than it was if
they had not been getting scanned previosly. It is nice to know however that I
am not the only one in this position.
