Profile appears to be locked - will not save settings between sess

For some time now any settings I change do not persist from one session to
the next. The volume always goes back to the default. I have to enable macros
in Outlook everytime I open it.

I am a domain admin and as such should be able to change any setting on the
system. These and other setings revert to the previous value every time I
start a session. does anybody have an idea on this one?

Check your event logs - and make sure you're using the User Profile Hive
Client service on all your workstations. I also suggest you set up and use a
"regular" user account for yourself; you shouldn't be logging into the
domain with domain admin rights. Use another account for that. Safer!

Thanks Lanwench. The User Profile Hive Client service is running. I bumped
up the priv's for this account just to see if it made a difference. Not. New
accounts do work fine but I am trying to avoid the pain of migrating
everything.
