product registration

I have a new computer with MS XP Professional. While
using MS Office, a box appeared telling me I needed to
register my product. I connected to the internet,
hit "next" on the box and it repeatedly tells me it
cannot find an internet connection. Obviously I am
online, but it won't register. Any suggestions?

I find it better not to try the auto connection at that point. Rather,
load up Word and cancel that screen. Check Word's Help - About word,
for the Product ID Number, then be on the net and go to Word's Help -
Activate Product, entering that number where necessary
