HI All,
I recently had to phone Microsoft te re activate my Windows XP(home).
They gave me a new series of numbers to install. Am I right in thinking
that this is now my NEW product key, or not. Also if I ever have to
install it again will this number work or will I have to phone them up
again??? Thanks

No, that is just a number different from the Key to activate your XP. If you
don't make changes to your hardware, drastically that is, then you should be
able to reinstall again with no issues.

The number given by Microsoft is not the Product Key as it has more
characters than the 25 character Product Key.
There is no reason to record that number since it will not work on a
later reload.
Use the original Product Key if reload is necessary.

Thanks for that, Tom & Jupiter.
