In trying to get product support, when I put the product
ID in the request, it is kicked back. Support screen
will not take the ID. How do I get the help I need.

I would personally say to go back to the person you bought
the product from and get them to sort it out for you,
could just be a dodgy serial number...I assume you have a
legitimate copy of the software ;-)

Software came direct from Microsoft...it is legit.

You're posting in an Outlook newsgroup, which is a good place to ask Outlook
questions. Nobody here is likely to be able to help you with logging into
the MS support site.

Where are you looking for your Product ID? Is it the one on the CD case or
the one uder Help>About?

The question stems from an outlook problem which I had
previously posted on here and received no help. The next
stop was Microsoft Support and another dead end due to
the non acceptance of the Product ID. Where else do you
now suggest I post?

If nobody answered, try rephrasing your post and sending it as a new thread
with REPOST in the subject line. It's possible you didn't provide enough
detail, didn't wait long enough, or that nobody understood your question or
knew how to answer.

Looking in the Help/About

Often, that product ID in Help>About is a generated ID and will be different
for every installation of the product. I know this is true for Office 97.
The ID on the sticker on the back of the CD case is the one I had to use
back when Office 97 was new.
