I just want to know what processes should be running on my pc. I think I
may
have unneccesary processes running because my pc runs so slow. Any
comments
would be very helpful. Thanks.

It's highly unlikely that your slowness is the result of unnecessary
processes. The most common reason these days is infection with
malware. What anti-virus and anti-spyware program do you run, and are
they kept up to date?

Also tell us what your hardware consists of, and what programs you
run.

See the following KB article:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353

Does your computer run faster now? If it does, go back to msconfig and click
the startup tab. Check the boxes one by one and reboot after each. Make a
note of the applications that are slowing down the computer. Google if you
don't know what the applications are. You decide if the applications that are
slowing down your computer are worth keeping.

Please provide additional information about your system.

Click Start, Run and in the box enter:

msinfo32

Click OK, and when the System Summary info appears, click Edit, Select
All, Copy and then paste
the information back here.

There will be some personal information (like System Name and User
Name), and whatever appears to
be private information to you, just delete it from the pasted
information.

This will minimize back and forth Q&A and eliminate guesswork.

Perform some scans for malicious software first, then fix any
remaining issues:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware
detection programs:

Malwarebytes (MBAM): http://malwarebytes.org/
SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

They can be uninstalled later if desired.
