Process loggin software

I need to find out what is starting up at 30 minute intervals on my
XP Home SP2RC2 PC.

Is there a utility that for ~5 minutes will log every system change,
process running etc. Bit like task list but automated and logging -
one of my issues is that the mouse/keyboard become very sluggish when
this 30 minute cycle occurs so seeing it on Task List is impractical.

Most of the apps I've tried are about logging user actions, this
action I am trying to trace is independent of the user.

You need to check with the experts in the WinXP SP2 RC2 newsgroups -
you know the newsgroups you are supposed to post to when Beta Testing
SP2, as SP2 is still in Beta - it may be Release Candidate 2 (RC2), it
is still Beta.
