Go to Add\remove programs and delete Ati software if there`s any.
Lower your screen resolution.
Go to Device Manager and uninstall your 9000.
Switch off and Insert your new 9600.
Restart and give windows the drivers.
Had a quick fight on my hands to get the machine to acknowledge my lcd
screen. came out of ati and into good old control panel then display.
Decided not to use the powercolor drivers though i did download the latest
version. I went for the ati catalysts. That meant downloading something
from net1.1 framework though i don't know why.
Although... this seems to have got better with Catalyst 6.x drivers.
The last two updates I have applied were able to upgrade the existing
driver withouth the pain of de-installing the old ones first.
