I followed all the steps to set up a home network with 2 computers running
Widows XP, using a residential gateway, but when I try to access one
computer from another I've got the message:
"You might not have permission to use this fodder" or "the network path is
not accessible"
I tried disabling all firewalls and other possible thing that could be
impacting but I've got the same problem.

I can ping both computers.

Is there any tricks for this Windows home network to work properly ??

what do you receive if using net view \\remotepcname? If it is error 5, it is permission issue; if it is error 53, it is name resolution or connectivity issue.

If you have Norton Ati-virus and recently updated it automaticaly turns on
it's personal firwall. Either disable it or configure it to see the Local
Peeer 2 Peer network

I am having the same problem, worked on it most of the day and tried
everything you did. Going to look at Norton next but if anyone has any ideas
please post them.

(Same setup as Luis)
