problems with xp installation

i am using a boot cd to install xp pro. when the initial setup finishes, it asks me to remove the floppy and press enter so the pc can restart and finish the setup. when i do this, it restarts. once the bios loads it gives me a screen option to boot from previous operating system or xp pro upgrade. it goes with the upgrade. when it starts up, i get a blue screen with white writing and it says windows setup....where it sits.......its been like that for 3 hours.......
 
What type of hardware? What's on the floppy disk?

asus a7v333 mobo, amd xp 2000 proc. 1 gb 2700 ram....the
floppy is a win 98 boot disk.....
