problems, with the internet connection.....

I'm having troubles getting online. It goes to step 5 and says " talking to network ". I've tired everything. Calling the costumer support and they told me to erase all my firewalls. And I did. I also have Re-installed my interent provider which is "walmart", and it still ends up on step 5! And it won't move any further. What do I do????
 
What error message comes after "talking to network"..? Does it ever get to
checking you user name and password..?

No it never makes it past that step. I can't check the password, because I re-installed my Internet and it starts from Exsisting Member
